About
BARC (Bali Dog Adoption Rehabilitation Centre) is a registered Australian/Indonesian not-for-profit animal organization.
OUR STORY
Founded by Linda Buller, BARC is a no-kill shelter providing vaccination, sterilization and other necessary medical assistance to all rescued animals. We operate a street sterilization program to help stop the relentless flow of unwanted puppies. Additionally, we conduct education programs in the Balinese community.
You can read more about our education program here.

BARC runs a basic clinic in central Ubud where the non - emergency cases can be treated and receive care, we also have an adoption centre and retail outlet, the retail outlet hosts our charity store, our pet store and our BARC merchandise store, 100% of profits from these three stores go directly to the care of the animals.
You can read more about our Ubud sites
here.
BARC is in the process of creating Bali’s 1st multi - species sanctuary known as ‘Warrior’s Legacy’ in Tabanan, Bali. We presently care for 170 dogs, and 1 rescued pig. We have just completed construction of a state - of the art all natural, open-air
jungle monkey enclosure for our rescued monkeys.
You can read more about Warriors Legacy here.
None of this is possible without the generous support of our donors– 100% of all donations go towards improving the lives of Bali Animals. Read more about us in In the media.
OUR MISSION
We run a small facility in Ubud for the community to bring suffering animals to where medical help and rehabilitation is available.
To lessen the load on the abandoned abused and starving, Bali street dogs and protect them from extinction due to relentless culling. The Bali heritage dog is estimated to be one of the oldest dog species on the planet, with DNA dating back at least 12,000 years.
We currently have no funding available to develop a plan to save the historic Bali dog from extinction, we are currently working up a program and costs so we can start fundraising. Read more about the significance of the Bali dog,

To provide a sanctuary where (un-adoptable) dogs are protected their whole lives, if adoptable to be found a loving family.

To expand our “Dog Squad” to enforce animal protection laws, pan ensure persons involved in animal abuse are held responsible and punished with prison time. We raise awareness through community education in International schools, Balinese schools and the broader Balinese community.
